Recruitment is much better than a C on paper, big improvement than last season, player for player.
Clearly a clickbait article.Unless we have a disaster with injuries not a cat in hell's chance that we'll finish 11th.
Reading the HDM comments is very amusing. A couple of FC fans still in denial that your franchise isn't in precarious state. The positive strides made over at CP are hard to stomach. We have surpassed you and on opposite trajectories now. Still early days but our goals are now loftier than just winning the derbies. Granted us fans will still put extra value on those points but we will start looking upwards not behind us at failing business's as Hull City's owner described you lot. Hard putting any positive spin on this even for the FC loving local media. Freezing your tatties off on the mud won't sit well with Taylor's inner circle of players. No stadium or training facilities of your own. No capital just booming costs and mounting arrears each season. Dire times but if all you can afford is a trip to Clee and a bag of chips then that's as good as it gets. Reading of Tex Hoys reservations over leaving Aus I'm sure that will make things much clearer for him.

Love to know what Hull have done to make that Shaw so anti FC.
His prediction makes no sense to me, you can’t use the reason of “they’ve got a new spine” when A, it’s way better than what we had and B, two of them have played each other for years. What makes it funnier is that he then goes on to place Leigh, who’ve basically changed their entire squad, above us!
Says that it’s rare for a new coach to have an instant impact, yet we have just seen a mid season change of coach get a side to the grand final.
Don’t get the use of Smiths first year at rovers as an example either, completely different situation what he overtook at that lot.
Like I’ve said previous, far from expecting us to be world beaters, but to put us down as 11th is nothing but click baiting nonsense

What on Earth inspired this rubbish, in the season of goodwill !!! Said it before, the majority of Dobbins are evenly balanced in their views, massive chips on both shoulders.

Wouldn't take it seriously at all. The man has valued views and comments over putting out an actual serious article. If he simply put his predictions and had Hull in 6th/7th, there'd have been far less engagement on his article, Twitter, and even on here. We also have more fans that Rovers, so makes sense to put us I'm the controversial position to garner more responses.

It's about time our fans stopped banter with rovers and been obsessed with them who cares about a minnow who haven't won a major trophy in 30 years and had 2 ok seasons since 2007 since they got promoted
The sooner we start focusing on the bigger fish like saints wigan and Leeds is when we'll start to challenge again
Beating rovers is irrelevant really as proved last year at magic weekend
I wanna see us win trophys not Rovers

Really not sure what to make of Matt Shaws article or what he’s trying to achieve, other than it’s a great piece to have blown up and put on the wall of the training centre as motivation.
It’s just a complete mess as it is contradictory across the whole piece. We were poor 2nd half of the season and season before no one will deny that nor that we were overly reliant on the maverick talent if Connor and also evidently pretty poorly coached on & off the field. Yet we bring in a guy who is not just an experienced head coach but one that has a proven track record in achieving success. Even out dear neighbours he turned round and whilst I squad hasn’t done a lot the playing squad Rovers he inherited was poorer than what has inherited now. Then you look at how our spine has been shocking since Kelly left with no creativity, no continuity and the continued flogging of Houghton. So we have replaced and added to our spine with 2 players who many over in NRL circles think will do well in SL and both also have pace which we have been lacking. We’ve also added Dwyer so this now hopefully means the end of 80 mins of Houghton every week. We have brought in Trueman who is spoken about highly by many in RL. Whilst we have let the talent of Connor go we have a much more balanced and creative spine without the friction or texting squad info to his mates at other teams we are playing. He also seems to ignore that another Smith came in at another team who were a complete dogs dinner in fighting it out with Toulouse until he turned them round in the very same season he arrived. I’m not expecting us to be top 4 material this season but we will certainly be more competitive and fighting mid table buildings g for 2024.
All in all seems Shaws report has more holes than Swiss cheese and it’s a pretty poor one.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
