I can see him resting Martin next week he's close to the minutes played scenario. People will bag Fash and Lane but we need more experience in the pack IMO. Walker did well at 6 I know he's not a natural but he makes breaks and yardage. Not sure on Chan, Gardiner and Jebson won't play next week. Ashworth can't be far off being back.
I'd go Moy Barron/Martin Carlos Chamberlain Briscoe Walker Charles Eseese Smith Aydin Lane Cartwright Sao Subs Balmforth Fash Eseh Ruan
Would tend to agree, thought Barron was the stand out yesterday and Martin looked like a player that needs resting which isn't unsurprising. Thought Cartwright made a big difference and from initially viewing in a very patched up & inexperienced squad and his first game for a couple of months he looks a promising signing. Walker isn't a half but to be fair he's doing as good a job as possible under the circumstances, didn't think Ruan had a bad effort either.
We again lacked size and experience down the middle combined with the heat and the amount of work defending in the first half due to the ill discipline in the first 25mins it was always going to a very big ask against a strong Leigh side even though they've played 3 games in 10 days.
Hopefully having Sao, Lane and Fash back from supension will give us some much needed experience and a bit of grunt, along with Chamberlain in at centre will improve us and give us the option to rest Lewis Martin.
Whilst the final scoreline was disappointing and performance wasn't the best we've seen of late at least they are still sticking together and not throwing the towel in.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
Thats the trouble with the youngsters is they are not ready to play every week. Theyll have learned alot last week, Moy was great at times but did struggle in the second half. The kick from Lam exposed him but he will come back stronger.
I think Charles will be some player, not ready for week in week out but ive seen season first teamers do less in this league at scrum half.
I genuinely believe we are seeing a bit of a golden generation here, just hope some experienced players can bring them on to established first team players.
Barron has come on so much and for me have him slightly ahead of Martin at the minute. Barron has had the advantage of playing outside a more experienced centre though.
Balmforth I think is our golden gem though and he needs a longer deal then one year.

Dont come on here with your level headed rational and fair comments. This forum is to vent your spleen, blame people and offer solutions that often are not practical. We know this season is a pain to endure. Grix has done well with the hand he was dealt. Next season is an entirely different ballgame. Some of our players will have learned loads to take into 2025 and we have hardaker who scored 2 yesterday as well as asiata etc etc

Agree with that apart from Grix doing well. He's not improved us. Should've beat London, Cas and Hudds off the top of my head while he's been in charge

In those games you mention I feel we were second best and didn't deserve to get anything out of them, though should have put in a better showing definitely.
Its Leeds (first time) and Warrington (home) where I think you could argue more that we should have won

funny how this Martin/Barron selection sways one way then another Barron looks to be another with the frame to add some weight and could end up being another Joe Burgess type of wing. I would keep Martin on the left wing with Briscoe with Chamberlain on the bench. Gardiner will end up in the lower divisions dont see anything in him to say he would/could be S/L quality

I am no Grix fan but if you cant see an improvement since Tinkering Tony was here then you need to give your head a wobble
I don't think Grix has done to bad imo , Every year we hear the same of of the coach trying to narrow the gap between our worst performance and our best ( yes it's hard ). I think Grix has done this to an extent . The challenge for him now is to keep the team motivated and playing well enough through our nose dive period of August & September .
