i agree ,theres always a few calls we could contest but on the whole he let the game flow
Agreed thought he got things right in the most part just a few of the set restarts he gave against us I couldn’t see much wrong to be honest. Also thought the penalty against Reynolds for a little push was poor when he’d missed or said he didn’t see Greenwood shoving Reynolds in the face etc. Also thought yellow for Edwards was harsh if I’m honest as how many times do you see that go on and player just giving away a penalty.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
Think the Edwards yellow was spot on, there was no fullback and Reynolds was in front of the Huddersfield player, Edwards made no attempt to get to the ball.
Overall I think hicks had a decent game, only gripe was lack of set restarts for Huddersfields messing around in the ruck.

It'll certainly be interesting to see if the officials will now be consistent with these decisions. I agree that it was correct by the letter of the law as you say there was no fullback, I thought it harsh as we have seen this happen regularly for long enough but the outcome has just been a simple penalty.
With the restarts there were a few we got pinged for which I couldn't honestly see much wrong with and Huddersfield seem to no better or worse but gave less away. After watching all the 1st round games this weekend some of the set restarts in all the games were mystifying at times.
That said its so good to have the game back in motion.

I think with regards to the set restarts it's just a lottery depending on the referee and their interpretation of the rules and the momentum of the game, but I don't think there was anything overly controversial over the weekends games.
Absolutely agree with just being able to watch some proper rugby again.
I thought it was a good team effort, although I have to say, Fonua was poor and his efforts in defense had me jittery. If the ball he spilled on our line had bounced kindly for Huddersfield, they score under the posts. I think his place could be under threat from Faraimo or even Cameron Scott and he is the player I saw at Wests, little or no impact and flailing around in defense. Where has the 2016 and 17 player gone? I hope it is just confidence with him and that he gets back to something like the winger or centre that, at times, was unstoppable.

Wouldnt surprise me to see Faraimo come in for Fonua Still believe he is more effective at centre. Cam Scott will be more involved this season. He looks fit and faster. He will be the centre replacement for when we need to move Griffin into the second row to cover for injuries.

First involement was a knock on, took 1 carry and conceded a penalty.
I really wouldn't be surprised if Jude Ferreira has over taken Scott in the pecking order by the end of the season.
