Unsung hero today was Washbrook I have been critical of Connor but he deserves to keep his place. Griffin was fit but was quite rightly left out and no coincidence that our defence is better without him.

best team they have had in superleague and they are still not happy
they sound like us!!
Because by our own standards we played poorly. You guys have already rightly said that at 18-0 we could have been embarrassed. Most Cas fans would agree. I don't think anyone is slagging off the team, just questioning where the endeavour of early season has gone.
Well done on the win, second half defence was excellent when many a side would have folded.

hicks saved cas from a hammering by wrongly sending watts off. After that he seemed to favour cas all game to me. Did we get another penalty after their team warning?
Looking at the stats, cas got 11 penalties to our 9, had massive weight of possession - 208 carries to our 151 (this is happening regularly and we need to cut down on the errors) but made fewer clean breaks, 9 to 7, but their offloads were 29 to our 8.
More pleasing for me than the win was the way we played before watts went off. That first 15 minutes was the best rugby we've played all season and gave me some confidence we can get back to where we were last year (and maybe be better in attack). If we have a fair share of possession then I'm sure we're a match for any team in the comp. We just need to cut out the errors and penalties

I've been critical of us. I think we've been poor all year. Tbf I called the big losses. Not to that extent but I said they were coming back before wigan game. But that yesterday was our 1st real all elements in performance. In round 11. Having played each team and only a point from top. That bodes well doesnt it. Tbf without the send off being in the position we were..warm weather..They had a hard game Monday. .I think we'd of put 40 on them. Comfortable. If we play like that v wire. Maybe get Bowden Griffin houghton back to freshen us up a bit then I cant see how wire can live with us. Unless they find season best form

Tbf, you can talk about chances they wasted, but we could easily have had 40 ourselves even with 12 men. The kick that Connor patted back and just bounced over Green's head with the try line begging, Shauls offload that Green couldnt quite pick up and then Kellys break when he passed to Connor and didnt see Shaul arriving on his shoulder who would have scorched in.

My mate wasn't real happy with Albert for not passing to Shaully as he had a tenner on him for last try scorer at 14's. Mind you, the blow was softened a little bit as he also had a tenner on Scotty T for first scorer at 40/1.

He was probably quite pleased to see Mcmeeken go over at the death then.
On the subject of Albert, you cant argue with Fonua getting MOTM, but Kelly was exceptional yet again. You name it, he did it in the game. Passing try assist, kicking try assist, clean breaks out of nothing, 40/20, tracking back to tackle Greg Eden, massive goal line defence. We all know his track record for second season syndrome, but even if he only gives us one season of that quality he will go down as a brilliant signing.
