I would say the same if a player choose us over Leeds.
Comments like that really set us up for a fall. We are a mid table team at best so far and have no right to make comments like that it just comes across as arrogance and as we have more resources available to us it's obvious that we should be better equiped than Wakefield. And if the money offered is comparable and it saves you a good couple of hours travelling a day why not choose Wakey over us?

Noooo! Don't be silly. He wouldn't have wanted to go out winning a treble. Retiring struggling to make the 8 is what a complete champion player and bloke like Ellis wants.

From 2006 to 2012 Wakefield spent most of their time in the top 8 or very near under Kear and Agar's first season, managing 2 top 8's and a few 9th plus a CCup semi. Not brilliant I accept but hardly the picture of abject failure and cellar dwelling you try to depict.
Carter has spent 3 years restructuring the clubs finances and now we are in the position to spend up to the cap for the first time in 3 seasons.
Also don't you think Brian Smith as Coach is something of a draw card for players?
You're an odd one as when you visit our forum you're nowhere near as bombastic.

I actually think Carter has done an excellent job, although like Pearson has made mistakes.
Anyway he has chosen Wakey and is a decent signing, as I've said you have the makings of a much more competitive squad, although I don't see you fighting for the 8 still.
I guess we will see how these players and Smith do next season, but if you are anywhere near us in the league, then I will be very disappointed.

That to me is the key thing. Smith still is an excellent coach and did a cracking job keeping Wakey up at very short notice. On the other hand weve got Radford who has done very little with superior squads at his disposal. That in itself could sway a players mind

I'm with you, he certainly won't be winning any titles now.
