Wigan are nothing special as said before the match just crucial errors was the difference
But God Jake Connor come on that effort on field was pathetic for the last try
Can we really have a "full back" who can't tackle at full back
First time I have watched Lovodua in a match and he impressed. Cannot blame him for the Field try as he has little experience as an edge defender against speedy backs. Wonder what Wayne thought as Field ran past Connor?
Quite satisfied with our performance overall as we will build on that.
A special mention about Griffin for his PTB's. Will now add him to my very tiny list of players in SL who follow the rule correctly by playing the ball back with the foot on every occasion. Welsby is still the gold standard though.
The one that got away! We had that game won, with some proper game management we'd have been okay but fair play to everyone, they had a good dig, but I couldn't help feeling annoyed that we lost this. Field aside, they weren't that great , although Farrell had the nous to make that run to set up Smith's drop goal to win it. Think Jake and Gale looked a bit clunky, which is to be expected but what a find Lover is! I honestly do not see how Josh Reynolds improves the team at the moment and I am not sure he'll add anything if he is fit, but Hodgson decides that one , thankfully.

He gets rounded nearly everytime a player breaks the line
The alarm bells should of rang the second he couldn't get near Liam farrell last season for exiles!
Players break the line that's why the full back is there to make the cover/last ditch tackles
Was a decent performance and wasn't much between the sides but we should of won it

Still fail to see what Johnstone brings, offers so little go forward, surely Bowden offers more.
Top pack, but don't think we use it enough
In the first half there were a few sets when I don't think a prop touched the ball which I found odd. I noticed Satae doing more tackling in his first stint then carrying the ball.

5 drives? Jeez! He was doing alot of work in defence was Satae, we need more runs on the board from him.
I know what you mean about JJ. He doesn't let anyone down, but is just 'there'. I'd assume Cator was going to be used to take over his role, but his injury happened.
Happy with the effort in what was a very even game, it really could of gone either way.
Lovodua has been some find, he has the potential to make that number 6 shirt his own the way he’s playing. I also thought Gale did okay, nothing special, but after a disrupted start to his time here he will be fine with a good run of games under his belt.
I will be honest, after the way we ended last season, I had some serious doubts at the start of this year. But credit to the team, sure we’ve not been perfect, and we’ve got a long way to go. But there is clear improvement in not only our style of play, but our application to the game both attacking and defensively. Roll on the Quarter final.
On a side note, how does a stadium in Wigan run out of pies?! Wounded
