Back in from the game and thought it was a decent performance with the players we had missing and in pretty poor conditions. We did what was needed to get the 2pts. Didn’t think our discipline was that bad to be fair just think Griffiths was a little heavy handed in penalties and six agains against us and thought Connors getting red was very harsh as it was yellow at worst. Lovodua looked good and hopefully he’ll be spelled with Houghton when we have less injuries. Gale showed us what we’ve bee. Missing in a halfback as well as a leader as he marshalled us throughout. Thought all the new players played well and certainly improve us. Fash, Brown snd Johnstone for me put a good shift in too. Impressive performance from Connor Wynn both in attack and defence.
The only real blots was the misplaced pass at the end of the first half they ended up scoring from and Danny’s poor pass with a few mins left of the game when we were on their line.
All in all thought it was a decent professional performance yes there’s still improvements to be made but that was a game we’d have lost last season.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

No, can’t see him getting any extra for that to be honest. Listening the commentary and seeing the video, that really was not expecting. It was a lazy arm a little to high, no way a red card , no intent , no aggression, not really sure what the officials have seen. Maybe just because it was jake!

(Not my typo.)

Impressed that Mcintosh managed to catch Johnstone, even if we couldn't stop the try in the end.

I'd like to see a closer view of the Connor tackle. It looked like a lazy arm, but not a sending off.

Think Savelio could be in trouble on Wakeys last try, it looks like he's tried to knock the ball out with his feet

Macintosh did have a good game tbh. But he only caught Johnstone due to Swifty coming across and making him change direction, he had left Mcintosh for dead and was going away from him.

It looks like one of those that the arm rises from the initial impact.
In the leeds match there was a similar one and the referee gave him a yellow card and explained why when asked by the Leeds Captain why it wasnt a red

Yeah on a second watch you're right! Swift, Mcintosh and Wynne all in the picture.

Can't imagine Fonua and Faraimo chopping him down

Discipline according to Brett Hodgson
“I’m really proud of the effort and there’s some things we need to improve for St Helens next week.

“Our discipline, I thought we gave away too many penalties, too many six agains

i agree and its something we have to instill into the players.

Connor Wynne seems to have found his position as a centre and Fash and Savelio worked their socks off

good to know Ligi passed his head assessment because without him and big Chris we would be in real trouble

This was exactly my view of our performance too.

It was just about getting a win today. A solid performance, great defence and we did the simple things well, our kick and chase was very good.

All the player’s will be better for getting a match under their belt. Josh and Darnell in particular, are coming back after very bad injuries.

A free hit for me v Saints. Hopefully we’ll start having more player’s available each week from here on in.

Well played today lads and a great following from the fans!
