I get he wasn't exactly going to slag Smith off and probably doesn't have the time to implement mass change, but the fact he's said wholesale changes aren't the way forward is a scary thought

The one that stood out for me was we made training hard for them.

From the outside looking in, if appointing Myler is going to save the club from administration again., it’s the most sensible thing from Pearson since Hull had joined up with Gateshead Thinder.

The club is broken, like most without sugar daddies, and debt won’t fix it.
Myler has enough RL pedigree on winning trophies, playing internationals, playing with internationals, being moved around to and relocating at home and abroad, understanding the player value of a family support (or not), and the value of money to be a successful club.

The only thing negative to Myler is that he doest’t fit the mould of a DoR..,
He doesn’t look like one! (whatever that they be)?

He plays a major part in training doesn't he, he isn't going to say things were too easy.

Not really sure what he is meant to say in that interview, with either slagging off Smith or making himself look bad.

Hope the coach is allowed to bring in his own assistant (to replace Gene) and also his only S&C team.

He struggled massively in his season as head coach at Salford. Might be one of those very good assistants but poor head coach

I think it ended really badly, he completely alienated himself from the playing group.

I really don't think Mcdermott is the right man, we need a coach who can build a side and a culture, Mcdermott biggest success was at Leeds, he is inherited a great squad when he took over in 2011.

Look at this squad he started with here: That is an unbelievable squad that would walk SL now.

Unless Rowley, I think it has to be someone working in the NRL, there is a good chance we will have 5 quota spots to play with for next season, and our only chance of improving short term is to make sure those 5 are top players, no more overseas players who can't get into the 17, not more overseas players playing the wrong position and a better balance of how we use our spots (not 3 on props for example).

Mcdermott would be an error. Odd character and I don't believe he's a great technical coach either
