Interesting piece with Evans in regards his conversation with Tony Smith and expectations. Shows that under a proven Head Coach there have been and are so many changes being made and not just big ones but also the little areas that need addressing and what we have been lacking under previous regimes. Certainly seems to be many positives and moving the players forward both as individuals but also as a group.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I remember seeing a ‘did you know?’ thing in a football magazine (possibly Shoot!) when I was a lad that the player with the shortest name in Football League history was Ian Ure. They also gave the player with the longest name but I’ve forgotten that… also I just looked up Ian Ure on Wikipedia and he was actually John Francombe ‘Ian’ Ure. He might have succeeded Alex Ferguson as Manager of East Stirlingshire though.
Quite notable (to a trivia dullard like me, at least), therefore, that you have had Sam Moa and Tex Hoy within a few years of each other.
'Thus I am tormented by my curiosity and humbled by my ignorance.' from History of an Old Bramin, The New York Mirror (A Weekly Journal Devoted to Literature and the Fine Arts), February 16th 1833.
Read today that Griffin will be moving to second row, confirming some posters comments on here. Seems Smith’s “ fresh start” policy is coming to fruition. It’s not going to please some people. Reminds me of a quote from my youth, “ you can please some of the people all the time and you can please all the people some of the time but you can’t please all the people all the time”
