You can only conclude that the "incident" was put on report, but the ref made no reference to biting. Probably a sensible approach if it was inconclusive, but the media had already made a meal of it.
Or maybe "let's call it quits" is now part of the disciplinary procedure.

It appears that the disciplinary panel is now letting lots of stuff go that would have got penalised with bans a couple of months ago (and some were ridiculous, e.g. Scott Taylor's ban). My guess is that, after lots of public criticism for over-zealousness early in the season, the powers that be have decided to take a more lenient approach.
