HDM article says this about a 2014 Council Reports findings:

"The report also revealed the lease only required council consent for its transfer to a third party or the disposal of shares in the SMC up to December 2012 under a clause in the original agreement"

"As a result, the council cannot now raise any potential legal challenge to a potential takeover of the company"

Bartlett took out a mortgage on the SMC is that what you mean?

If memory serves, Bartlett took out a loan using the SMC as collateral, to fit out the boardroom. Allam took out a mortgage for £8.5m and fully loaded it with debt. Does anybody know what the mortgage was for?

Probably to help pay for the Allam’s ‘gift to the City!’

The SMC concept has been abused though. Not sure if it’s happened like that with other stadiums, like Man City move to the Etihad had a similar deal with the Council.

If it’s in the air with City being sold, wonder if there’s scope for Adam to buy it and regain ownership? Might cost a bit in the short term, but may provide more stability for us in the future and provide more revenue opportunities from the stadium.

Its needs to be someone that is totally independent and impartial and that has proven experience running Stadiums/Arenas etc. The KC has never really been run or utilised properly and this needs to be addressed for the benefit of the City Council, both Hull FC and Hull City and just as importantly the local community and local sporting clubs.
