Its washbrooks normal position, he's just not very good anymore. There was a couple of selections which didn't seem quite right. Our bench seemed really light so I think I would have been tempted to start with Abdul and bring Bowden on. God knows why he took Connor off instead of Griffin too. Having said all that, It was ultimately errors that cost us, again.

Something I worried about before the trip to Aus was how we are when we return. Should we not get a result against Wire on Friday you could argue its being very disruptive for our season and some major fixtures coming up we could easily have lost 3 or 4 games before we find our feet again.
Going to be a tough and critical few weeks already.
Friday maybe isnt a great guide though, because Warrington are a good enough team to beat us when we're 100% fresh anyway (despite their slow start to the season). I thought today that we looked a lot fresher than I was expecting. More fatigued than Castleford, yes, but we stuck with them for longer that I thought we would. In my opinion by next Friday we can't be using the Aus trip as any kind of excuse. If we get beat, it's because Warrington played better than us.

Think we are wasting playing Hadley at 9 when we are short in the second row. Should have played Washbrook there today and let Hadley play his normal position. Our left edge backs have been poor today.
I would play Litten, and as you say put Hadley second row. Hopefully though Manu will be back Friday
Plenty of effort but we went off completely when they brought their big bench on. We did well to hang in but too many errors and penalties meant we had little of no ball in that 2nd half.
It doesn't seem to matter who we play on the wings but we're easy to score against out wide. Our wingers never seem to get teh walk ins other teams get against us.
Plenty to improve with ball in hand but anyone expecting a win today with the oz trip and the injuries was being overly optimistic.
kelly will probably be missing Friday as you need a clear week for concussion I think so lets hope a couple of the others are back.
Lost Friday and we're already starting to look over our shoulders IMO

Strange game. Thought we dominated the opening 30 and then lost our way, some right howlers putting us on the back foot. Undoubtedly missing Houghton, Taylor & Manu but still did enough to keep it close, just a shame we squandered our chances. Thought Paea was quality today, big minutes and led from the front. But those are games we need to be winning if we want to challenge. Ultimately a disappointing afternoon.
It had nothing to do with the Australia trip as to why we lost, it wasn't physical, yet again it was mental/dumb rugby that we displayed far too often last season. We should see this game as a chance wasted to put another W in the column, I bet Radford is fuming at how much we gave away and mistakes we made.

That's because we're very likely the worst team in the league for creating space out wide. I know Shaul is pretty awful when he gets the ball out wide and slows it down a lot. But can't all be blamed on him, we've been like this for years. Castleford are the masters at creating space, but even teams like Wigan who play pretty identical to us make the space and at speed too. It's our major downfall.

Not an unexpected defeat but disappointing given the bright start.
No need for concern at the two defeats (2016 we lost three from the first five but ended up top at the split) but it's important to pick up those points next week.
