Very good second half and a dominant display. The first forty was patchy to say the least but last night was pretty much all we could ask for. Two points on the board and a clean bill of health.
Everyone played their part, a shame that Faraimo couldn't get a debut try but his time will come.

Thought Abdull was outstanding 2nd half certainly put a marker down for a place in the 17, for me if all fit Carlos would be in for Griffin, Watts for Hadley bench Bowden, Hadley, Abdull, Masi or Green all Hull born bench. Still can't make my mind up on Turgut.

Agree with most of that but would have Watts in for Paea and use Micky of the bench so we always have an experienced front rower on the pitch when interchanges kick in. Griffin has shown at the back end of last season and the beginning of this that he has plenty to offer but I’m with you Carlos has a bit more. Turgut I’m with you again, he’s a little headstrong/rash imo. The penalty he gave away under our sticks when we’d just won back possession was pure stupidity.

All in all a good win in the end. A patchy first half as you'd expect as first real game with the full squad, but 2nd half they showed just what they can do. For me we let Huddersfield off the hook in the first half by taking the 2 pts twice when the pressure was on them which was then compounded by Shauls brainfart to try and go on the outside where there was nowhere to go. Then another brainfart by Connor led to their second. To keep them scoreless from that point on was pleasing.
Thought the introduction of Abdul also made a big difference and we looked a much quicker and more fluid unit when on the attack last night.
Very positive start for me.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
Abdull was great, seeing real benefits from his loan move as with Hadley too. Turgot, on the other hand, really don't rate him personally, tries hard but is too much of a liability. the penalty he gave away under out own sticks is a prime example. Good job the game was won by then.

Happy with th performance last night. It's always difficult to predict how a side will start a season, and in this case whether we'd be effected by the Aus trip, but I thought we looked very fit, and seemed to be a step ahead of Huddersfield.
Kelly & Sneyd were great in their own ways, Faraimo will fit in well as he's more than willing to come looking for work, Paea slotted in like he's never been away.
Special mention to Abdull, who's introduction at 13 changed the game. It was clear that with Hudds' big pack we weren't going to steamroller them, and adding a 3rd pivot worked perfectly. Hadley put himself about, as did Matongo. Bowden looks the fittest I've seen him.
A decent warm up ahead of next week.

Was impressed with all the backs coming out of our own half. All of them put a shift in and took carries up. Connor and Shaul especially pleasing to see given their slimmer figure compared to Tala, Bureta and Griffin.

I'll agree with that and was my only criticism of him, a quick pass and Kelly was in. Taking the 2 when we were so dominant was a wrong decision imo. I understand the points on the board need, but this wasn't like Wakey away last season where tries were never going to come easy. We had them on the rack and I think we'd have scored at least one, if not 2 early tries and as we saw in the second half, their heads went down very easily. It could've been a cricket score!
