As none of us know the background to what happened previously, can we just leave it to AP to sort out. He doesn't seem to have missed anything so far and his latest statement suggests he won't be afraid to do whatever is necessary.

AP's statement today confirms today what a lot of us feared, how badly the club has being run on and off the pitch and as CE the bloke must take a very large share in the blame.
In his defence he did oversee the club posting a profit these past few years, no mean feat for a Super League club. Surely this is the primary aim of a Chief Executive in any line of business? How can you say he would be out on his ear within any other profit making organisation?

Totally agree with this, if he feels Rule is incompetant at his job he'll soon be gone.

Plummer left around the time of the Cooke fiasco didn't he? That was not long after the start of the 2007 season so 4 years or thereabouts. Not sure what the relevance is, mind - the fact remains that he was originally brought in to do marketing and has continued to focus on that function.
Hold on to me baby, his bony hands will do you no harm It said in the cards, we lost our souls to the Nameless One

I think he may well be gone soon, not because he's incompetent (which he isn't) but because AP is gradually getting rid of everyone connected with the old regime.
First there was wisdom Then there was knowledge Now there is only information

The only two circumstances I can see JR leaving are:
1) He gets a job in Union, which has been his aim for some time 2) AP quits City and takes on the day to day role of Chief Executive of FC

How can you say he is good at his job when he has being at the helm of an organisation that has performed so poorly over the last few years, he has lied and misled the fans and come out with endless spin. Any other business his feet wouldnt touch on his way out.
I wasn't having a pop, just trying to be helpful. And he was brought in for marketing, he was Commercial Director and then 'promoted' to Chief Exec.
IMO it's a blinkered view to say that the organisation has performed poorly over the last few years, it has only performed poorly in one aspect, and that aspect has not been Rule's to control. I can only think of one occasion where he has outright lied, and it is a big part of his job to put the bright side spin on all of the goings on at the club.
And unless you are/have been involved in running the club, your last statement is unfounded, prejudiced nonsense. We can't know that at all.
