I too never felt like he was 100% committed, his first few games he was good then after that fell off the cliff. Dont remember him taking the ball in much at all in recent times. Even on Saturday he didnt run the ball he gave it to an 18 year old kid to run in , although the mistake that followed wasnt Hoys doing.
Makes sense hes the first to go with others that can play full back. Smith should be doing alot better but I do share his opinion to a degree that some of the players just dont seem to be holding there end of the bargain or not good enough to do what he wants them to do. Lets get rid of those.

The initial reports said "offered to other clubs" although I can't see many who would be willing to take him and have quota space available. To me that reads they are not sacking or paying him off, at least in full so who knows ?
All in all a sad state of affairs and with the social media comments from his Dad and his previous "likes" played out far too much in public. Like you say with our past record its going to make it harder to sign players from overseas.

Simply sacking somebody without a cast iron case is a foolish thing for us to do if we ever intend to ask a young man to travel around the world and play for us in the future - who would be prepared to take the risk ?
In addition, sacking somebody without very good reason is to invite all manner of breach of contract claims - it just makes no sense to take the legal/financial risk.
I rather suspect that "released" means they pay him his contract and he leaves.
If that is true, it does not save us a penny and means we are without the services of one of our better players.
If Pearson and Clarke truly back Smith then they need to show up from now. Let him wield the axe back his recruitment and if its still a poop show then get rid.
Its no secret Smith should be doing better, but it makes no sense to me why all of a sudden he comes here and is getting the worst results if his coaching career. People may say his time has gone but it doesnt plummet to this level. He needs a better cap to work with even though in my opinion we should be looking elsewhere.
so hoy is considered surplus to requirements.hes been up and down and maybe bit of an attitude, but hes still one of hulls better attackers and is at least available for selection, yet we are quite happy that carlos will be sat in the stands the next 3 or 4 months .this club is a joke

Despite I'm told our Hull daily mail reporter asking 'numerous times' for an interview with either him or the Chief Executive.
All just seems very wrong particularly when both aren't showing their faces in the slightest which for shows a lack of respect to the clubs fan base and sponsors alike who have backed the club & Adam himself without question for long enough. Unfortunately now is the time that Adam himself has to front up and speak to the lifeblood of the club as his continual refusal to address things is just driving fans and sponsors away.
If Clark was to now pop out from wherever he is hiding I don't think he'd be given the time of day and quite rightly based on his record as the CEO and again the fact he's gone in to hiding and the lack of communication that comes from the club other than 'merchandise' releases and offers.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
Bit of a strange one but we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes,he may be a crap trainer/attitude and be bad to be around?….i won’t hold my breath for anyone coming in but you never know.
Tbf as well….not exactly ripped the trees up has he…magic wkend was his best game but apart from that and we are well covered at FB and people said about him at 6 but again a player out of position which Smith has been accused off all season.Wonder if this is why we pulled the plug on the Sam Royle alleged signing…we had to free up money.
I know the team were poor again but Hoy one of our biggest earners was awful. Out of position, just didn’t look interested. His stats for last season make grim reading too. Moy showed more effort and application. Really don’t like criticising players and understand it’s not easy coming over from Australia. In saying that Okunbor doesn’t even look like a rugby league player. My big toe has more aggression. We just seem to sign bang average Aussies when we could pick up players from the championship.
