You’d think People on here have only been following hull for 2 seasons, the way you talk about Houghton, he’s still top class hooker, starting or off the bench, makes no difference
He had a huge dip off in form, people recognise that and take it into account, people also recognise he has limits to his game as well as strengths.
For some reason there's an element of hull fans who won't have a bad word said about any player born in Hull, a lot of the comments I see and make myself tend to be constructive criticism as well as praise.
Shall we award him a 200k a year contract because some wear blinkers?

There’s a counter balance to those arguments, some Hull born players are actually very good, and Houghton is one of those, he has been outstanding for the majority of his career, and now has been reinvigorated, after his own admittance of falling out with the game. sometimes our own fans can’t see the woods for the trees.
Fully merited deal in my humble opinion, and what a mentor for our new number nine to learn from.
As I said they recieve constructive criticism as well as praise.
I don't see the problem at all.
Fact is during the end of Radfords reign, Houghton was very much out of form, mentally wasn't right and had huge question marks over certain areas of his game.
He's also performed well under Last, in a different role off the bench which seems to suit him a lot better, running against tired legs.
Praise and constructive criticism both justified, I don't have Hull born tinted glasses on, will praise when it's warranted and speak about failings when warranted too.

Shame some have issue with that.
I dont have issues from telling it how it is, Danny Houghton five times hitman of the year, dream team member, man of steel, three hundred and fifty appearances for his only club, born in ull.
You seem to have left those elements out, when you were being constructively critical, and fair minded in praise.

Same as every other player playing during that time then?
