Therefore the suggestion that I should simply turn up earlier and not comment if there is a queue when Thursday/Friday nights kick off at 7.45 is not necessarily taking context for all into account. Further, we never had these issues prior to automated turnstiles nor are there queues of this length at other grounds. The cynic in me would suggest the Allams have cut costs with an associated negative impact on spectator experience. Whether the latter was their intention or not is questionable.
You never been in that huge queue at Wheldon Road, trying to get in the 4 turnstyles made available?
Been wondering about the barcode / scanning entry system. Not sure how much of a cost saving it really is. After the initial cost of installation, there are still plenty of stewards outside to assist. Has this really saved a material amount?
The lack of efficiency at the bar / food stands is another thing which I find mindblowingly slow. The lack of organisation / supervision / general ability of those working results in large queues and slow service. They would sell more if it were made a smoother process. You can go to events with 50k plus people in attendance and be tended to within a matter of a few minutes rather then the 15 or so it takes at the KC.
