I was thinking exactly the same. Frank not off the bench leaves a hole imo. He may not of been a video highlights reel last year but teams feared him and had to number up. Always took 3 men and as mentioned was near top in lots of the stats you'd like from a bench man. Metres busts offloads etc

Shauls earnt the right to be in pole for a starting spot but I think he's really hanging on by his finger nails
7 try assists is a bad return for a team near top all year in a key position. Unless scoring hat fulls of tries
Think carlos would also be very good at 1
But I really like the idea of connor.

In his career he's bounced between wing and centre without having to be labelled as 1 or the other
Has lots of attributes for both
I'm tempted to go wing as I think carlos and him on wing as a combo is fractionally better than Fonua and michaels as a combo. Not much in it either way though

Can't understand why you gave Michaels a new contract as you seem to have plenty of cover in that area and he takes up a quota space

Still amazes me, that people don't understand you need a squad to be successful, even more so next season.

The squad is about the right size looking at the fixtures
More the better. Just need to use it better imo. Radfords hinted at a more rotational approach next year tbf

I like the idea of a Carlos and Fonua partnership. Fonua won't be stood out there with his hands in his pockets, Radford will have him coming inside a lot. And Carlos can get the ball to him early and back him up. Kicks to that side would be hard to defend too.

A right side of Manu, Kelly, Tuimavave and Fonua looks potential devastating.

Defensively it might not be the strongest combination we have. Whether that becomes an issue depends on how Kelly plays in defence.

I think defensively that looks a lot stronger than we had this season.

Carlos is a good defender and Kelly isn't as bad as some make out.

That is why I would start with Connor on the bench.

He could come on at full back, or any position in the backs, and change our style of play.

kelly is strong in the tackle but misses a lot. He's been consistently in the top 2 or 3 for missed tackles since he came over here. Having said that, most halves miss plenty of tackles as they're pinpointed by the attack and we've not signed him to shore up our defence
