The salary cap rules state that "The identity of any Marquee Player shall not be kept confidential."
I can't imagine any player being happy with this, making public that they are earning more then £175k.
I don't remember any club making such an announcement, bearing in mind that the term "marquee" has been used for years.
I thought AP pretty much said Frank is our marquee player?

Tomkins being the other I think
Cup Winners: 1914, 1982, 2005, 2016, 2017. Cup Runners-Up: 1908, 1909, 1910, 1922, 1923, 1959, 1960, 1980, 1983, 1985, 2008, 2013. League Champions: 1920, 1921, 1936, 1956, 1958, 1983. League Runners-Up: 1957, 1982, 1984, 2006.
Is Pritchard a bone fide marquee signing though? I thought Lee Radford had previously said that we wouldn't be utilising the ruling . Also thought AP said that Pritchard was a marquee "type" signing . I could well be wrong though.
Like someone said earlier, Carlos has all the skills needed for stand off, but he could be well established in the centre role by next season
You'd like to think we'd be in with a shout for Marshall (if finances allow ), given the connections we have to him.

I guess there are 3 salary caps....
(1) The RFL salary cap limit (which now also has a new upper limit of 50% of "Club Relevant Income"). (2) The clubs own salary cap, based on projected income. (3) The clubs salary cap after invoking the £175k marquee rule.
I reckon we're close to the limit on (2), which could, of course, be the same as (1).
So we're up to the cap limit, but moving to (3) could allow for another signing.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Is the marquee player a marquee player for the year, or for the duration of their contract?
We could front load franks wages this year and pay him 500k for example, with only the first 175k counting on the cap, and they pay him 50k a year for the rest of his contract. Next season, do the same for another player. Not sure whether that'd be allowed though ha.
Adam Pearson wrote:"Frank has shown the type of character he has because I'm sure he could have found a way of not coming," Pearson told the Mail.
"He's genuinely excited at coming and being a part of what Lee Radford is building and we are excited about his arrival, because he's a real marquee player for us."
"With Gareth Ellis, Mark Minichiello and Sika Manu coming over too, people can see the type of culture that we are building and Frank, with his commitment and character, only adds to that for us.
"We are expecting big things from him on and off the field, because we want him to provide that leadership and set the bar for all our young players too."
Pritchard is set to arrive in Hull in the next couple of weeks, with Pearson saying the club will make sure they do all they can to ensure their star signing settles in quickly.
"It's important we help Frank settle in to life in England quickly and we make him feel as comfortable as possible," added Pearson.
"Frank, (Mahe) Fonua, Carlos (Tuimavave) and Sika (Manu) are all in the same boat and we will make sure they all feel settled in Hull so their only concern is throwing themselves into pre-season training."
