I didn't, you said he was worth MORE than he is currently being paid if he was injury free and that you would not pay him a penny less no matter what as it'd be an insult.
Firstly Ellis has rarely being injury free so your first two words aren't really applicable over the last three seasons and the odds are not in his favour this year or next.
Secondly we have no guarantee that his injury record will improve yet you are happy to give him a new contract AND pay him full whack. That's a massive gamble and frankly we would be paying over the odds for an injury prone player no matter how good he is
when fit.

From your petty reply that's a gimme but for you I'll make it simple. Wait and see how he goes and adjust a new contract as appropriate, if he's too big a risk and breaks down we don't gamble with that amount of salary cap.
