Exactly. Nothing really matters as long as they make us a better side than what we have currently, nationalities and age included.

No he doesn't Dave, he's playing reserve grade for Newtown Jets. He's had two very average games and one good game so far. That's hardly special as Byron Ford is one of the stars of that division!

Tansey is playing reserve grade because he has commited his future to Hull FC IMO. He was getting very good reviews prior to signing whilst playing full back and the Roosters are quoted admitting their disappointed that he is leaving.

Cant see why anybody would be negative about the Tansey signing.

Exactly. Just looked on Sydneys site and he has played the last 4 reserve games but was playing first grade before that. Will be a future star imo which is why we spent on signing him too.

I'm not being negative, I'm putting things in perspective. I've read his last few game reviews since he's been playing reserve grade and all I've done is relayed what the reporters have said. I hope he's good, and he's young enough to improve but I'm not deluded or foolish enough to believe he's a quality, 1st choice NRL fullback. We paid a similar fee for Matt Shultz! I am happy with his signing and think he'll do a good job for us but I like to remain objective. (Although most of you would say objectionable!)

I hope we keep Moa and Cordoba because that's a pretty old pack without much balance of youth. I also hope Burnett can force his way in so we don't have an all antipodean pack.

Oddly enough, I think Internationally we can match the Aussies with our forwards but it's our backs that are nowhere near as good. It seems our backs are going to be entirely English though. I hope Briscoe can fulfill his potential because I think we've already seen the best from the rest of our backs. Hope we do sign Turner too.

Burnett, Houghton, Lee and Washy needed to be added to that list so imo it looks like a good blend of youth and experience.

The backs are fine and will do a very good job if the pack can go forward. They struggle now due to playing behind a beaten pack and no early ball from the halves. With our pack for next season I think we will be able to get on the front foot and Long will make a huge difference to the quality ball that the backs will receive. If these things happen then we have enough quality in Tansey, Briscoe, Raynor, Calderwood, Yeaman and Turner to win matches.

Tansey got excellent reciews for his fullback performances and the Roosters did not want to lose him. Once he confirmed he was coming our way he got dropped as they would rather blood one of their own younger players with next season in mind.

Blood their own? Hasn't Sam Perrett played there since returning from injury (coincidentally when Tansey was dropped). So I assume by this logic Fitzgibbon wont play any more matches for them this year? Their reserve team's gonna be good!

exactly, given the position the roosters are in there is no point in playing a player who is off in few weeks (he's not even their player). far better to try to develpo a junior or try playing someone out of position

The referee's indecision is final
