Fair enough Lee has improved this season, but not to the extent that everyone makes out. He's a solid defender, he carries the ball fairly well and hes 'ok' from dummy half, however he is'nt in the same league as Houghton so he will never make that position his own. Thackeray on the other hand, has bags of attacking flair, he scores try's, he creates try's, he's fast, all attributes that make a quality halfback. But no, we (yet again) got rid of a young talent that will imo go very far in the game.

i have been one of tommy lee's biggest critics for a while now,but credit to the lad,he's improved his game this year, especially when he's having to play a number of positions(hooker, scrum half, loose forward,2nd row).thackeray will not go any further in the game,as he has found his level, and unless widnes somehow get into super league,in the very near future, the championship is going to be his highest level.nothing against the lad,but just because he is playing well for widnes, doesn't mean he would play as well in super league

agree, i think lee has done nothing wrong this season, he's cut out the silly mistakes to his game and has knuckled down in the gym by the looks of him...he's a great tackler too...

Thackeray did an excellent job for us in nl1, unfortunatley he was a turnstile in defence at sl level. Shame because he has many excellent attributes, but until he can sort out his defence he will never be a sl player.

when the score got to 50 we shouted for more, up popped brad davis went over for four.....

......and its no nay never no nay never no more will we face religation......

To be fair, most of the time the answer is blindingly obvious.

It's not the players we've got rid of that's the problem. It's the ones we've kept.
