Shenton is good but won't improve our backs drastically. Atkins wouldn't add too much more either. Can't think of any other decent centres that would improve us really.
Chev Walker?

I thought Gleeson was eyeing up a move to the NRL at the end of this season.
On the original topic, I think everybody's frustrated by the Crocker situation but I'm sure like others have said the club will be looking at other options already. Atm we're not desperate for players so I think we can afford to wait till the right one becomes available.

If we were going for a mid-season signing, I'd go for a full back. I agree we're weak in the centres, but we have Yeaman, G Horne, Whiting coming back and Briscoe when Raynor comes back in May. Contrast with full back where we are currently at our 3rd choice for that spot, Byrne out for the season and, even if Tony gets back, he's done his knee 3 times now so is not a reliable option.

What ever "spin" the Club have put on it , I still feel the Club signed Lauaki to cover Crocker`s absence.
Crocker will not play for Hull FC in my opinion . What has changed from his refusal to overturn the initial decision?

I repeat again that quite frankly I don't think he will come Souths have been talking cash with him and I am told that if its a no then he will be off there within 24 hours! As for another player well we need a back but whether its a centre, where we have some cover (Whiting, Hall) or a full back where a really good player would be an investment for the future or (My Choice) a half back because we just need an injury there and we are back to were we were last season, no one else on our books is the answer, we know that through experience.
However everone is right when they say where do we get one from.
We now need as a club to buy top class specialist for the backs, not Jack of all trade play anywhere also rans!! The way forward is to buy cleverly and buy big in the backs, to complement what is already (With Luauki) a great pack! If we do that in future we will become a great team, if we don't we will continue to be stuffed with G Hornes, Rich Whitings and Tommy lee's who although OK players who give their all are probably all (as we are) scratching their heads as to what is their best position. Those three players give us all the utility back up we need and the days of Peter Sharps utility madness must be put behind us. If we don't get Crocker lets get a specialist, but where from is quite another matter!!

2 and a half years is not long enough for him to settle in?
I think if the visa application fails(again), then the club should sign him up for a 2 year contract from 2010, with 5 years past since his conviction, he shouldn't have a problem next year.

If the club are looking to bring someone in, and that someone was not a forward or an antipodean, could that someone be from rah rah, cue the Hape thread.
Or could that someone be........mack the knife
