Channel 4 To Broadcast Super League in 2022

Super League has to announced a landmark deal which will see Channel 4 broadcast Betfred Super League matches in 2022. This initial two-year partnership will see matches broadcast free-to-air for the first time in the competition's 26-year history.

Channel 4 will broadcast 10 live games each season, starting with eight-time Champions Leeds Rhinos hosting Warrington Wolves on Saturday 12 February (12:30). The remaining nine games will be spread across the season and will include two end of season Play-Off fixtures.

Surely has to be good news and bring extra TV cash for clubs?

Any financial details?

For me its certainly a step in right direction in terms of getting the game out to a much wider audience.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Great news.
Hopefully the viewing figures go well and they extend the deal but with even more games.

Let’s hope CH4 breaks the usual Wigan/Saints right of passage for presentation, and sparks some innovation within the game.

Let’s have Schoey & Leon Price doing the match commentary, Carney can be the head man, please no more Wilkin, Clarke, or Tez. :D

Schofield???

I would have Adam Hills (already contracted to Channel 4) presenting, definitely get Jon Wilkin involved, I think he is great

Adam Hills good shout, Schoey makes me laugh he’s so wrong, Wilkin hates Hull no thanks.

I hope CH4 present Super league in the same manner as their presentation of Rugby Union it is very good.

Wilkin is the most articulate ex player that is shown on any of the RL productions on either SKY or BBC. His hate of Hull doesn't bother me, we will likely only get 1 game maximum on Channel 4 anyway.

We need to break away from this Northern stereotype when it comes to the presentation of the game. People suggesting Wayne Godwin etc. I love his enthusiasm, but jeez, he should be nowhere near it

Bring back Keith Macklin, probably before your time.

The game certainly needs a new vibrancy and direction, I think most everyone agrees we’ve been shortchanged in leadership, marketing, etc. Hopefully 4 can kickstart a revival of interest.
