Whilst I agree with your sentiments, is putting Purtill in charge going to result in anything different? Pearson got it wrong by keeping Radford for this season when we desperately needed a fresh face with fresh ideas. Instead, we get same old performances, same old excuses, same old. 'we know how to put things right', and same old player interviews in the local paper. I don't have any enthusiasm for the club at the moment.

As I said on another thread, we need a State of the Nation communication now. Where we are at financially and contractually. No point letting fans speculate about coaches and squad upgrades if the economics aren't there. Transparency about how close - or otherwise - we are to the brink. Options for fans to support if they can or are able to. Scenarios for 2021. We need some context that reflects the truth.

I think had the Covid situation not been such a devastating issue and caused a real dangerous threat to the future of not just the club but the sport as a whole then I think AP would have gone and got a new Coach. Sadly the plain fact is right now it’s about survival and taking stock. Is the gamble speculating on a new coach or is it sticking and holding station for time being. It’s a very difficult dilemma AP faces.
ATEOTD he showed too much loyalty to Radford when he should have shown him the door at the end of last season as he’d given him enough chances and player funds to get things right. Those just didn’t happen and AP compounded that by keeping him on into this season with the same end result on the field.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
In fairness to Last its been a tough season to take over. Took him months to actually get any time with the players which was then interrupted by an isolation period and then all the short turnarounds have seriously limited time on the training ground. I have no idea if he is the man to take us forward or not, just worth bearing in mind the challenges he has had so far when making a judgement.
I reckon if we made a play for Powell we would be able to get him for next year. Things seem to have gone off the boil at Cas and all Powell does these days is moan about one thing or another in his interviews. Get the feeling that a change of scenery would do him some good. Money talks though and I dont know what contract he has left at Cas or how much Pearson would be willing to pay, but he would definitely get us in better shape.

Any coach in the league would get us in better shape.
