Colin Welland was quite involved in rugby league, sure he was part of the team, in the Fulham rugby league club formation, and wrote frequently in support of our game.

I hope the great Danny Houghton goes round at least one more time, a superb athlete and ambassador for our club, in the most challenging of positions he has continued to excel.

On my last journey to Headingley on coach this time, one of my regular travel companions told me one of our sponsors will pull the plug next season, he’s not happy with being asked for more cash from JC.
You'd like to think there is still money within the cap to bring in more players even if we don't lose anyone. Some reported big earners going and we surely can't be paying the likes of briscoe, chamberlain, hardaker and burough much. Plus 3 are supposedly marquee
Ins Asiata Cust Burough Briscoe Chamberlain Hardaker sezer rapana abdul
Out hoy pele okunbor brown brown sutcliffe mitch carlos houghton walker? trueman tindall? mcintosh cator scott diakhate
All presumably in the top 25 earners. If those coming in are costing as much as those leaving we're back to square one with value for money within the cap

Personally I reckon it's a bit of both. Definitely been some poor choices made with contracts but AP's statements over the years leave a lot to be desired so I take everything he says now with a heavy dose of scepticism. When he did the interview on Humberside and was quite bullish about us spending full cap, I thought it might be true at the time as it was what he was most passionate about. As the season has gone on though I can't help but think it was more anger that Sky caught him out in a lie when they published that salary cap table.
We'll never really know one way or the other though.
