One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Fair play to Albie, he’s got some big Cahoona’s. Any other funny stories about him from his Ull days. Seems a legend….!

Yes I thought it was funny when Rovers dropped him then got relegated.
And then he signed for us for nothing and helped us retain the Challenge Cup.
He did not always bring out the best in us, myself included. Even now. Who knew pomposity could be such fun? I’m all over Partygate on the Sin Bin nowadays.
For Rovers, he showed a lot of heart on that miserable (for us) afternoon at Wembley in 2015. A game in which the other highlight (for me) was Tony Puletua making one half-decent drive in the Leeds half. Then in 2016… nah I don’t even want to think about that.
Seeing him drunk and getting punched by that big prop makes me a bit sad for him. Maybe I’m just in a melancholy mood.

Thank you so much for linking that. I’m going to have a good read of that. I’m a Leeds fan and watched that cup final game. My abiding memory of that game was not anything Leeds did, but seeing this little guy with flowing locks and the heart of a lion. Don’t know why but it makes me a bit emotional thinking back to that memory….. Perhaps it represented all of our crushed dreams……

Aye, crushed dreams. Thinking about it that like, it is a little hard to begrudge him his win with Hull a couple of years later. I can probably just about manage it, but I was pleased for Donaldson when he won it with Leeds in 2020, and the lads who went on to play in the GF for Salford in 2019 can be proud of a creditable effort.
If we were to beat Huddersfield in the CC semi and had to face Saints (or to a slightly lesser degree, Wigan) at White Hart Lane, it’d provoke some mixed feelings of anticipation.
