People are leaving the game, there is no doubting that and all clubs must be worried, RL is not a rich sport and that kind of attendance I would think will mean a financial loss for the home club, at a time when most are just trying to survive. Not good at all, but quite how they address this is beyond me and shows just how well supported , home and away, the Hull clubs are doesn't it?
I thought SL attendances where above normal averages this year, seems to be have been some very healthy attendances this year.
Cup attendances has been a concern for the last few years, although that Warrington gate is a shocker.
I think in general the attendances for cup games have been somewhat disappointing for quite some time. I think this season the issue in cup attendances has been amplified due to knock on affects of Covid with some people still being reluctant to go to games, finding other things to do, the cost of living and the disenchantment if terms of the amount of yellows & bans for incidents that hardly warrant a penalty.
Look at the Leeds v Cas game which I thought was also poorly attended but no surprise when both teams are poor at present and people no doubt have more important and better things to spend their money at present.
