Jordan Lane had a serious back injury a few years ago. This was bound to happen after a long term contract extension.
Or in Brett Hodgsons words both boys picked up niggles How you can describe a fracture as a niggle ill never know Lanes injury doesnt sound too promising either

However you saw on Sunday what a good player he can be with a dominant pack and before his injuries he looked a very excited young player, who had a very good running and kicking game, he is a pretty strong defender too.
Personally I think it's worth the risk, would certainly be an improvement on Reynolds and potentially I long term half back for the club.
Will give us a quota place to play with too, although we might need a 7 if Gale doesn't sign again and Hookem isn't ready (Real shame he is injured, as I would have loved to see what he can do).
Good signing if true we do need two new halfbacks though.Like to see a running six

Hodgson said ” We had some players who were carrying niggles and didn’t train towards the back end of the week, and that showed". No mention of names, and Lane was injured in the Cas match.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Wouldn’t mind Croft to be honest from what I’ve seen of him so far.
I know Trueman was hailed as the next great talent but he’s struggled with form and injury for the past couple of years and think it would be a gamble to sign him. We need quality and players with a better injury records moving forward.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Hodgson has confirmed his absence is due to the fracture and he admits he doesn’t know whether he’ll be looking at an extended time on the sidelines because of it.
Meanwhile, Jordan Lane picked up a back issue in the defeat at Wheldon Road.
“Both of the boys picked up niggles and it’s difficult to evaluate on a four-day turnaround this week so unfortunately they’re not available,” Hodgson said.
