Jordan Lane was outstanding yesterday from this position. He has always been a great line runner, as shown against Salford last season and then yesterday. However, had Ma'u not been injured he would have played at 13 - through the middle, thus not allowing him to run those lines.
So the issue is, when Ma'u is fit again, does he slot straight back in at 2nd Row, or do we keep Lane there, and move Ma'u to the middle? Or, does Ma'u move to the right 2nd row position, and Savelio play through the middle?
Ma'u is a fantastic player, tough, uncompromising, but he hasn't ran the lines that Lane did yesterday. We seem to give Ma'u the ball and expect him to cart it forward with 3 men on him and is probably doing him a disservice as he is more talented than that.
It will be a good headache for Hodgson to have in a few weeks time

Good position to be in, always injuries, players tired, I'd have one on the bench, means the backrow can be rotated, get a rest and make the pkayrre more effective.
Much prefer Lane out wide and Cator in the middle, think it suits each others games.
Lane always had potential to be a very good SL player, he is now starting to show this

And some posters seem to think if you’re not 1st team regular at 21 , get rid

He seems to have bulked up a fair bit in the offseason too which is what was holding him back in my eyes, he always ran great lines but wasn't that hard to tackle.
