I was expecting to enjoy it all over again, and I did.
But the thing that was best was listening to Kirks outstanding performance as expert summariser. He really is very good.
His reading of the game, ability to see what will happen next, what either team is doing that is making them good or not and more importantly, exactly what they should do to change things.
Like when Hull went through a dodgy patch first half he was so right with the causes, and they did change, and it did work.
He was spot on all the way through, like he had a crystal ball. He sees things others just don’t.
He is clear, concise, quite understated, and very knowledgable with great insights into the game and what is really happening out there.
At last there is someone really worth listening to who can turn professional experience into words on Radio that really enhance the listening experience.
And its so much better than that once well used Humberside phrase “well it is what it is G”
I absolutely agree with you. I sometimes like to listen to the commentary while at the game to get another perspective.
Kirk Dixon is knowledgeable enthusiastic and a rarity on local radio articulate! Him and Richard Stead work really well together.
Richard Stead is an excellent game caller and Sky should have looked at him to replace Eddie Hemmings rather than the new bloke who is awful.
What can you about Gwillyn he's absolutely terrible. He tries to be funny and controversial but is an embarrassment.
Both him an Pinkney were commentating on the Salford relegation game and when the kick went over there was a stunned silence for a few seconds followed by the sound of whimpering!
