I have touched on this before, the RFL have given Lomax a central contract, which indeed protects Saints from losing him to the NRL and also helps them with their salary cap, other teams have these contracts for certain players, does anyone know who they are.
Huddersfield have admitted they asked for a CC for Jermaine, but we’re turned down. I think Hull should demand this type of contract for at least Jake Connor, would this not help us secure him long term, and also protect one of our young starlets being taken by the NRL, which this CC system was designed to do. Or is this a closed shop for the usual suspects.
Astonishing that McGillvray has been turned down and Lomax gets one. There not exactly alike; internationally one has consistently been one of England's top 3 players over the last couple of years, the other when he does get in has been poor.
Following this level of decision making by the powers that be Connor has no chance of getting a central contract.

Probably Erik, but if Jake Connor is not a case for a CC then who is.

In principle it seems a good thing, and I have nothing against Lomax he’s a great player, would say Percival could be awarded one as well, but it does seem there isn’t much transparency in the awarding of these contracts, which also in Lomax case help Saints to have more cap money, but as I said, I haven’t got a clue who has these deals.

In theory the central contracts are a good idea but badly thought out in the way they are done. Its unfair for any club that has a player on a central contract to gain and advantage within the SC. If St's or any team gain an extra 40K within the salary cap for having a player on a central contract then all clubs should be given the same allowance to use to upgrade existing players contracts they deem worthy etc.
You can't have a salary cap that everyone sticks within if then some clubs due to a central contracted player are gaining an advantage from it.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

Your right Chris it’s unfair, so at present Saints & Leeds have these contracts, who else I wonder.
