Another of our heroes from the late 70s/early 80s leaves us. Anybody remember him collecting his JPL winners medal from the Final against Rovers whilst wearing a Hull KR shirt? He got roundly booed from all the Hull fans.
One of the great characters from that era, I bet there are stacks of stories about him.
RIP Charlie.
Reported on the Featherstone Forum of TotalRL that Charlie has sadly passed away.

Apologies, my memory ain't what it used to be. The Rovers shirt was adorned by Charlie at the end of the Floodlit Trophy win of course. Thanks to Statto Dukey for getting in touch.

In five seasons between 1978/79 and 1982/83 he played 185 games. Incredible record for a forward.
He also scored a last minute try in the last game of the 1978/79 season to confirm the 100% record as we beat New Hunslet 6-1 in front of a remarkable Divison 2 crowd of 12,424.
So sad that another player from that era has died at a relatively young age. Condolences to his family and friends.
Very sad news and no age at all, same as my mum in fact. Always remember his head bandage, good solid pro who was reliable and never shirked away from whatever came his way. Moved on back to fev for 85/86 season and totalled 450 club appearances in total from the start of the 70/71 season (only making his debut at 20), no mean feat given his limited appearances at the back end of his Hull career.
RIP ''Charlie', fondly remembered by all Hull fans from those times.
