Happy New Year Wilf and thanks for this week's diary. I think the levels of expectation for the coming season seem to be very high and, hopefully, not without good reason. There are some real stars wearing the Black and White this year and it seems to have fired the fans up, me among them. Lets hope we can give Rovers a good working over and take that form into the season proper. Hope to see you at the KC with a smile on both of our faces.

Thought-provoking section on referees/touch judges, it's easy to overlook their compromises/contribution when irate at a dodgy call that on review usually ends up being correct in the first place.

Happy New Year Wilf.
We never had a great team in the 1940's being only a mid-league average side post WW2 with a few notable outstanding players including Roy Francis, Bruce Ryan, George Watt, Harry Markham and Duncan Jackson.
The 50's of course produced the great Francis coached side with the' Panzer Pack' whose performance record over several seasons has yet to be matched.
