Thanks for this weeks diary Wilf, yet again you've put into words how I feel about the club, it's the hardest job in the world being an airlie bird but Friday's result makes it worthwhile. Currently I've lost count of people saying I'm not renewing my pass, I'm never going again. I've seen four of them and parted with see you Thursday - no dissenters !!

another great diary wilf.i couldn`t get to the wigan game you wrote about, but reading your report on it,i certainly felt i was watching it.always looked forward too up here in jockland.wont be able to get down for thursdays game against wigan, but hoping to catch a game before the season finnishes untill next year.
born in airlie str,1939.german landmine that fell on boulevard, also blew up half of our house.thats why i dont like germans.not because they blew our house and boulevard up,but because the gerry pillock was aiming for craven park.
geat diary again wilf, I like you, watched the derby from behind the settee, and after it had finished I must admit the overriding emotion was of relief that we had maintained our super league status without having to go to the likes of leigh, bradford, Sheffield etc and could look forward to some relatively stress free rugby.but apparently some people think that's a negative attitude.I guess I am just happy we are still in super league, and finished above the entertaining,"best squad rovers have had in the super league era" !!!? when I have had a few days to think about it, I will probably want us to hopefully give the super eights a good shake!

A great read Wilf and I still haven't stopped smiling from Friday's caning of the great unwashed. So short of Catalans winning at Leeds and Dobbins overcoming Saints by many, many points it looks like 7th place is ours and how I'll enjoy rubbing it in to any Red and White fan I come across. The spirit within the squad is second to none, and after losing Gaz and Leon big wraps to the guys who came in and took up the challenge. Lets carry on with more of the same against Wigan and then into the super eight. Who knows what we can achieve. It would be great to have a big crowd on Thursday so we can show our appreciation of the effort the boys have shown.
Like you wilf, I think it seems too much of a coincidence that there was talk of a merged "reserve" side playing in C2 and then suddenly this idea of reserve sides suddenly appears. I'm pretty sure we'll see a merged academy and a joint reserve team playing when this new idea gets off the ground. Despite what the owners say I have no faith that a full scale merger isn't on the cards at some point
