Is Smailes still the sports reporter for the hull daily mail in regards to all things hull FC or has that Westmorland guy taken over ??

James Smailes is now the deputy sports editor at the HDM. Gareth Westmorland has done the recent match reports and other Hull FC stories. Not sure if he's the confirmed correspondent yet. Rovers fan, I think.

I'm pretty sure Smailes is leaving/left the HDM. Seem to remember the phrase "pastures new". I guess it could just mean promotion.

He's been deputy sports editor for the last two years the rumour is that the pasture new see him as actually now being promoted to Sports Editor or he is about to be elevated to that position, he was talking on twitter of advertising for a new Hull Fc correspondent a few weeks ago top bloke, good writer and we'll miss him on the day to day stuff! make a good editor though!

There will be a new FC reporter starting soon. I met him for the first time at the Cas Cup match and that was when I heard it from him that he had the job.

Westmorland is hilarious. He writes about Rovers like a teenage groupie writes about One Direction.
