Man of the Match against Cas

I hope he gets chance to show his potential this year.
I thought Russell would be a good signing for us and I'm sure he is but Lino seems to have other ideas and stepped up.

It can only be good for us if they are competing.

Thought it was Rodwell? But Lino did have a good game, took it to the line well instead of letting go too early :thumb:

Dependant of how they go in training, any knocks etc, then in my opinion Lino`s performance against Cas has earned the right to be selected and start against Leeds

I thought Lino was back to his best against Toulouse in the final, if he can keep that level of performance up he'll take some dislodging.

Lino, despite his detractors, has always been capable of producing a performance like against Cas. What he now needs to do is perform at that level more consistently

I think Lino is guilty of overplaying, or at least trying to do too much when he has the ball.

It's funny, at one point (might have been at the back end of 23) he was playing on one leg pretty much for a game or 2 and in those games, he actually looked fantastic which is strange to say. I think that's because he was forced to slow down a bit and do the basics. When he does that, he looks very good. He just needs to cut out the running around like a headless chicken and get on the same wave length as the players around him, which he can obviously do.

Max got Man of the Match in League Express.

Max had a good solid game, as did all the squad, but I think the League express just pick a name at random at times. To be fair, the MOM could have gone to quite a few in the starting 13, lets hope it continues into the season

He was up there and involved in most of the try’s so it’s no surprise. He was my motm too and I’m still hoping we can hear news soon.

Back to Lino. He was good at Leeds and he was very good paired with Trueman on Friday.

He usually takes the ball too close and closes his options out sometimes leading into an erratic pass or step. There wasn’t any of that vs Cas and he released the ball at the right time to the runners. I’ve been critical in the past but more than happy to see him play like that.

Like another has said. He has put his foot into the lead to partner Trueman vs Leeds as it stands.

I thought Russel went better vs Cas too than vs Leeds so be interested to see more from him too.
