I have to say I'm more impressed every time I go to the club and see behind the scenes.
Matt Ellis really is a godsend to us. Not just for his money. He has really changed the ethos of the club and running it like a legitimate business, focusing on customers and how to get the best environment for players and supporters alike.
Ste Mills took us through his recruitment methodology and how he got to the players he did. Very impressive and is something that sets us apart from other teams. He may well be the most valuable recruit in the new era.
Talked to Powell and back room team and I really like how it's set up.
Powell is very much a leader and I really like listening to him. He can explain what he does and what his plans are intelligently and I felt quite motivated listening to him so he clearly has that skill with players.
Shenton comes across as the studious one. Clearly more intelligent than your average player and you could see players really listening when they were discussing fine details of training.
Danny is valuable to that group and takes the motivation and realist side, preparing the players mentally and emotionally for games. And very much an interpreter between players and coaching team.
After the skills session they made it a family day where the kids could kick a ball around with their dad's and enjoy the environment.
They really are building a club rather than just a team.
It was interesting to hear the difference between Ellis and Powell.
Matt has very much about building crowds and being competitive and building our success over the next few years.
Daryl was all about being competitive and his personal target in every game us to win.
Which is how it should be.
He's conscious that we have a lot of young players, especially in the middle who haven't played SL yet but thinks they'll go well. They all really like Rodwell and say Seth surprised a lot of agents and other teams as no one thought we'd be able to get him, his reputation is that good.
Great post, we are in good hands like I tried to tell you last year but I understand it takes time and proof to get on board. I really hope the fans back Matt up and attendances increase next year they will see over the next few years what an ambitious hombre he is.
