Gale, Uele and Ashurst back in the Trinity squad for this game, that is a very impressive 21 man squad, don't envy Powell having to pick a 17 from that especially in the forwards.

Interesting that York have named Joe Law in their squad, we must have given them permission otherwise loanees don't play against their parent club. Lyneham also named in their squad so we may have the ' pleasure' of seeing The Flying Pig grace the Belle Vue turf

York don't have the biggest pack, so we should be able to dominate territory wise, Applegarth will no doubt have a few tricks up his sleeve to surprise us

Route one down the middle with ruck speed will be the order of the day I’m sure.

They have received nothing but total support from the new owner. I heard he put some money behind the bar for all of them to celebrate.

Pratt then Doyle lose the ball in quick succession and York have their tails up.

Went 12 nil up playing the perfect wet weather game then got sloppy, giving York ball and territory. Half time team talk, simple game plan, protect the ball in the collision (Thompson is putting the shoulder in every time), and build pressure.

And Olpherts and Kay.

We have been very poor this half.

Why we aren’t using our backs g boys down the middle I can’t fathom. That last minute before the break. York on back foot and should have been Uele and Rodwell running it in but instead we run lateral with the halfbacks and send a kick to the edge. We are trying to get backs into play early in the sets and it’s not working. Not sure why we are going away from our strengths.

Well that was a tough watch. Credit to York they were aggressive in defence and we were awful. Couldn't hold onto the ball and kept inviting pressure. To be fair it was a useful defensive exercise ready for the play offs, but a repeat of this performance will make things hard.

A win is a win. Few lessons to be learnt from the performance, but we have to move on to next week against Barrow who will try hard to make life difficult for us too

I thought we were scrappy and made too many unforced errors, York were pretty grubby and the ref not great.
Not the best afternoon all in all but a wins a win.
