Is Jay contracted for next season? If not I think he is worth a contract extension. I think he is having his best ever season and would be excellent to replace Ashurst as Captain next year if as expected Ashurst goes to Oldham

Doesn’t have an announced contract for next year as yet , whilst I think he would make a good captain am not convinced he’ll be a starter next year , which I do think is very important for the captain

Been saying for weeks he’d be worth another season. Probably would t do the same minutes but as a rotation squad player he’d be very good to have. Would interchange well at 13 and I agree he’s looking the fittest he’s ever looked and playing good rugby in the middle.

The question is… is there better out there? I’m not sure there is. With Bain, Cozza and Pitts that would be a few solid options for 13.

He got the supporter's man of the match on Sunday (not for the first time this season) and runs his blood to water every game, so definitely worth another year for me :thumb:

I think he'll be perfect for out 13 spot next year and I'd make him captain as Hop says.

I certainly wouldn’t be against him being captain for next season. He’s not showing any signs of slowing down and has an engine.

If I recall correctly as a young 17/18 year old he came through as a 13 but got moved into the back row. Seems the move back to 13 has re-energised him as he definitely looks like he could go round again.
