It is awful and no doubt he will have CTE but it can’t be diagnosed 100% til after death and the brain can be examined. At best it can be diagnosed as probable CTE, nit picking a bit but just trying to be factual I would be surprised if there isn’t a large percentage of Rugby League players who have probable CTE to one degree or another. |

Thats correct, however, there are now PET scans which can detect abnormal brain tissue patterns associated with CTE in living individuals. |
