Reserves v London. Disappointing game from Trinity Reserves against an entertaining Broncos side. We get a narrow win but worrying if we want to be a top superleague side and in a weekk that Rhinos give contracts to 15 homegrow lads.

They just beat a SL clubs reserves. From what you say trinity played poor against a team that played well and still won. Positives to be taken.

I’m sure the youth set up will take shape over the next few years but this is reserves and Leeds signed 15 or so for scholarship or academy level which Trinity also did months ago for our scholorship/academy. I assume you missed this.

Leeds Rhinos have announced new contracts for 15 of the Rhinos’ brightest young graduates from the club’s academy. This is not Scholarship to Academy. To put the score into context on their last outing broncos reserves lost 66-6.

... and? Reserves is about giving game time to fringe players and youngsters. It's about developing players. Scores are irrelevant. It's nice to see wins and convincing displays but nothing really comes of it. The reserves and academy reached the finals a few years back while the first team was awful. There will be peaks and troughs depending on the quality of kids coming through. Perhaps we're in a trough, but there may be some diamonds in there.

My point is that maybe to be a successful Super League team maybe some more hought needs to place in homegrown talent. There were definitle a couple of dìamonds playing yesterday.

To put it into context, you could use the 20-20 draw they had with Wigan earlier this year in the reserves, the current SL champions. I wonder how much sleep they lost over that.

London Broncos reserves more often lose by a big margin. Trinity reserves/academy have been disappointing this season.

Means nothing.
The academy set up and the A team are there to support the first team squad
If you get a couple of players coming through that make the grade then thats great, but we've had all conquering junior set ups in past years and very few made the grade.
The reserve team is really about getting squad players game time - nice to win but not really that important because it's not a competition league the games are played in!
