Agree with the posts, I would like to add the quality of his cut out passes & early along the attacking line in accuracy & speed , it reminds me of Wally Lewis, but Wally had a lot more vision etc. Onwards & upwards, up the trin ! |

I do However think that a drop to the championship will have given his confidence a huge boost. He’s clearly a good FB who is SL standard playing in the championship. |

Full backs don’t hit their best until 29-33 or so. Players like Coote. 27 is young for a full back and his best years are now coming up where all that experience can be utilised. I struggle to see what English full back other than Max there will be competition wise. Wellby gets the nod with his running game mainly but in terms of full back play rather than individualism I’d say Max is the better player. A player who can create space and pass like Jowitt would go very well on the international stage imho. Whether he gets the chance we will see I guess. There’s very little competition in that position to be honest and it wouldn’t take much for Jowitt to get into the set up over next few years if he keeps on as he is. I mean when you’ve got some of the players listed getting a call up like this week it’s certainly possible. |

I think Max would have to have a worldy of a season in SL to displace Welsby. And although he is doing amazing and will undoubtedly break records, he isn't playing at the same level that those records were set. |
