Wakefield Council have put 8 acres of land up for sale of the 31 acres available on/in city fields,
Designated "business development" - they are willing to split the 8 acres up to 2.5 approx.
I wonder if Matt is aware as he has asked them for land & its near the ground etc,
Just a talking point that's all, he may well have been offered some locations etc, we can only wait & see !
Up the Trin !!

Who owns Kibble - the old pit pitches at Sharlston?

It used to be a fine sports complex and I'd have thought perfect for a training base.

West Yorkshire Sports Club didn't close down in the end - could that be another possibility?

No use. Size too small and slope too big.

When I was head of youth I proposed and did some investigations into using the old Westgate bid outfield or snapethorpe School Fields.
The main building already has classrooms function rooms, showers, physio room changing rooms etc. which can be converted into anything the club would want. Two main fields one of which is plenty big enough to have a facilitaty put up for indoor training with artificial grass and another main field which already has cable laid for floodlights. They probably need to be improved but it’s a start.
There’s a secure carpark the whole facility is very securely fenced off and if you wanted to, there’s the possibility putting a ‘welcome to Jurassic Park’ style archway on the main gates as you enter which would be very impressive for anybody entering the training & academy facility for the first time .

Maybe not suitable for training, but if some of it could be handed over as parking that really would help. A lot of people are swayed by ease of parking, and the Donny road end is only a five minute walk from BV, ideal.

This bit behind Starbucks would be ideal, and hold approx 200 cars. They could use it through the week as a Park & Ride to pay for it. Just a thought

Good thinking vastman, wherever & whenever Matt E would have to also consider security of the building training premises in these days of wanton vandalism & trashing property !
