I saw a certain Salford fan posting on twitter that they were making a play for Lewis Murphy. I have been monitoring him playing via the nswrl site but not easy to get news on individual players unless first graders as far as can see. He played 4 and scored in his last game but hasn't seen any game time since. Might be injured but if not wonder if having 2nd thoughts as some players actually want to play.

Would take him back if that's the case

I’d also be interested as I think he has a bright future. I think he could transition to centre too and the photos I saw he looked to halve bulked up a bit.

No reason why you couldn’t have 3 quality wingers in the team

Bit hypocritical there! You criticise TJ being converted to centre (as I do) but suggest LM could! He's an exceptional winger why move him?

Haven't Salford just confirmed signing a guy called Logan Lewis from the NRL. Fan hears Lewis and assumes wrongly that it's Murphy probably.

Not hypocritical at all and I expected you to pipe up. But I’m not that fragile I’m afraid.

Johnstone is a fully fledged winger who has over 10 years playing their at the top flight winning a few accolades and topping top try scorer and playing for England.

Murphy is a young winger who still has plenty of time to develop his game and is pretty malleable as younger players tend to be. He’s yet to hit any significant heights in the wing position which is absolutely the position to play him in as a starting point. I do think that he would be an option to look at for centre if he has the skill set. I seem to remember a couple of astute passes by him and his defence for his age was pretty good to.

There’s a big difference in talking about an established experienced winger who plays for England and a young lad who’s got everything to prove and still an age where he can be looked at in another position.

Might not work, might be worth a try or not.

As for Murphy being exceptional. Your exaggerating to try and have a snipe because your I disagreed with your opinion on TJ. How boring.

He’s got good potential, he went well but there’s alot to prove before Murphy gets billed as an exceptional winger.

Can't say I've seen anything with Murphy that makes me think he'll be a better centre than winger.
He's a great winger with bags of potential. I'd let him gain experience in his chosen position first.

Definitely a winger and not a centre. The question is could we turn him into a right sided winger, we have already got lefties in T J and Walmsley. Didn't Lewis play a few games on the right for us previously ? He has been tried on both wings for the Roosters.

Maybe not but I recall a few decent passes and some good defence from him for his breakthrough year. If he came back of course it would first and foremost be as a winger, absolutely no question he is a good winger with good potential. He’s definitely young enough to give centre a shot though and that was more my point.

I’m expecting Walmsley on the right wing next year but there’s no reason why we couldn’t have Murphy vying for a wing spot too. I would be happy for him to return and I do rate him.

I know Walmsley is looking good for us and is playing well, but from what I've seen, he'd still be 3rd choice behind Murphy and TJ.
Which kinda suggests Murphy wouldn't be top of our list as we have other positions to fill.
