A return to the stadium where we lost the gut wrenching Challenge Cup semi final to Hull FC in 2008 . But let's not dwell on the past , another tough game awaits against opponents who will be well up for this one and are probably a better team than they are given credit for having just come up from League one . Good win in round one against York Knights then gave Sheffield Eagles a good fun for their money on Friday afternoon . Our attitude has to be right and I'm sure it will be . |

We need some variations in/on attack rather than sowly rely on Max's moves ! Forwards need to inter pass rather than one up drives ! |

Forwards have been doing a sterling job and a lot of the reason for quick plays and one up drives is to draw in the defence so the backs can exploit on the edges. It’s the right edge which need to find more attacking shape and variations. A bit hard with the recent wet conditions to promote too much link up play with the forwards though I suspect we will see a little more on dryer pitches. |

I can't quite fathom how this has been deemed as a negative? We haven't been solely relying on "Max's moves" - which in itself is a poor interpretation of a 5-6 man set-play that works 90% of the time starting from the aforementioned "one up drives". The conditions / pitches haven't allowed us to be throwing tips plays or 40 yard passes so we have had to play conservative and then play more dynamically when the time is right - which we have done successfully. The Lino-Griffin partnership has shown promise, we have already shown that Pitts, Cozza, Doyle and Ashurst can ball play as well as having Hood and Smith become part of the attack if necessary. We have had 22 different try scorers with 19 different assisters in 8 different games already in 2024. If it's variety you're wanting, I'm not sure what else you're looking for. |

Agree with that, the only thing I would like to see is more set plays on the right edge. Lino > griffin seems the go to move but I would like to see more set plays to create overlaps on that edge. That said we have had little consistency with the right edge with personnel. The second row has seen Griffin, Pitts, Vagana and the centre and wingers most weeks have changed. Perhaps this will come with consistency on that edge. Either way you have to be happy at the early signs across the whole team. With so many new signings this team has a lot of potential to realise yet. |

As stated on our podcast last night, 62% of our first team squad have played less than 10 games for Trinity. Partnerships, link plays and set moves take time to perfect in training - never mind in a real world Rugby League game with line speed and pressure etc. I'm pretty happy with where we are at at the moment. |

Perhaps some decent weather, rather than incessant rain on a farmers field of a pitch will help with some flowing rugby. We've played plenty of decent stuff in the drier weather. |
