How great was it last night, a top notch physical game with a great following.

After seasons of languishing around the bottom of SL I am in many ways glad we are now in a position to reinvent the club. It may not have been the ideal situation for ME to take over with relegation but with some astute appointments on and off the pitch the club looks like its going to go from strength to strength.

Support last night was top notch and will only increase by the looks of things.

The players were involved in a toe to toe slog with Fev and I have to say I have loved both games this year at Fev winning and losing.

The Championship I believe will be great for us the physicality on display and the fact that every team will be after us is only going to develop the siege and winning mentality.

If we do end up in the 12 I believe we will have a great baseline for the club that will will put us in a different if and when we get back into SL compared to when we were in up to last year.

Last night we ground it out however it could have been much more comfortable with more composure in the conditions, that said when some of these plays and passes are completed and the pitches are drier I think we are in for a treat this year.

Really looking forward to getting to some of the grounds outside of SL again.

The second half was a real grind uphill in those conditions especially for the second half. At times we made it a lot more difficult for ourselves with dumb play but our forwards were excellent. Looking forward to seeing a match fit Rodwell, looks a very physical player.

Well that should conclude our visits to "the swamp" for some time. If all goes well we will gain promotion and if Cas somehow survive, we will have trips to "the Pond" to look forward to. Did anyone else notice that they have installed lifebelts on the railings in the pond corner as it is now getting so deep.
That ground is severely unfit for purpose.

I actually think getting relegated will turn out to be the best thing that's happened to Trinity in the longer term , it's given Matt the opportunity to root and branch the club which possibly would be more difficult if we'd stayed up last year .

The championship is a tough league but Super League is way more unforgiving as we know well , we can be successful and plan for the future maybe still in Super League we'd still be trying to put fires out every week and not necessarily making the best decisions .

I see this season as the launch pad that starts the journey on that road to success we all want to experience .

It's actually a great time to be Trinity fan , I'm loving it , feels like we are going places and we are only at the start of this .

On the subject of support, what are the words to the song we were singing last night?
(the one that the lads in the Stand to the side of the pitch were belting out at the end).

It's difficult to pick these things up when you're a newcomer ............
