Quote:Lam also suggested that the pitch at the Totally Wicked Stadium may need checking after a number of players expressed concerns following the match.

"I think the players are still quite heavy-legged, and we've had to readjust the schedule to make sure they're freshened up. But there were a lot of complaints about the heaviness of the field. No disrespect to St Helens and the ground, but the feedback was that it was very heavy underfoot, and three or four other players had tight calves and strains as well. It's something we're disappointed about, but we can't change that outcome now. I just think that maybe the pitch needs to be looked at as well to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else."

He is extremely fortunate that Leigh picked up so few injuries last year and managed to complete a season only using around 26 players. Hopefully Lam will find out what it's like going into a match without a recognised back available or having no front row or having to use third choice half backs then he may have a glimpse of what Mark Applegarth went through last year without blaming pitches, opposition, judiciary or even Asiata for taking players out at will.

What goes around comes around ,as far as Asiata is concerned Put a few players out for 6 week plus with is shoulder on side of knee tackle .Things seem to have gone quiet on complaints about our pitch ,is it a case of them who laugh last have the most to laugh about

Great isn't it? 8)
The only thing that was wrong with our pitch was that it was played on too soon after being laid.

Asiata has not committed an unlawful tackle (this season or last), and that has been deemed thus by the rules, and the MRP. If you're laughing at injured players, you should be pointed out as a sick fan, and a sick individual.

I think he’s lucky looking at the tackle last week. The bloke is going to injure a few players this season if he carries on hurling himself at players legs with no ability to pull out or adjust himself. He’s walking a fine line so probably can’t complain if and when he gets it wrong.

There was nothing wrong with the tackle. He wrapped his arms around the player, his head behind the legs, and tackled on the thigh. What part of it do you not understand? I know ex rugby players suffering back problems, should we outlaw tackling around the waist?

Might as well play this for safety>>>> Image

It was an illegal tackle hence the card following video review, the fact that the panel didn't add any ban or fine means that NFA required and yellow sufficient. What part of that do you not understand?
