This stuff is great. He's looking to build the club, not just a first team.

He really must be minted because that will cost serious money.

He’s on the right lines with getting the Council onboard. A facility which would clearly benefit the community as a whole is harder for the Council to duck responsibility for than a stadium.

There is no reason a council as land rich as WMDC can’t gift us the land and other forms of support.

If the he can get the council on board the sky is the limit

The council gave us and the other two clubs 2 million pounds each for the inclusion of a community aspect so why should they give us land for free because to do so will require them to do the same for Fev and Cas.

I presume to lease not be given the freehold?

Hes certainly trying to improve all aspects of the club.

So many clubs nowadays have like a rugby centre, where all the clubs training takes place.

Leeds for example, use a site at Kirkstall, and these places really do tend to be state of the art

I wonder if he has considered some type or partnership with Sandal Rugby Union. They already have loads of land and an half decent set of facilities. Good location near Belle Vue too. I think Wigan have some form of link with Orrell and I also think HUll use a local RU club as their trainng base.

Weren’t Wakefield AFC going to potentially contribute to some improvements in training facilities. Perhaps a joint venture as such with Wakefield AFC would be an option.

Also, what about the next phase of the stadium improvements in the south east corner? The gym, locker facilities and shower facilities along with cafe and classrooms? All on the planning portal to be completed after the east stand. I expect this will be starting now?

Surely that would give enhanced training facilities for the players too. The plans looked impressive and would certainly when done become an in house training centre as such.

I just checked the planning portal and the two floor rolling shack looks impressive as a gym facility. Could even cut out the cafe to make something more practice.

See the plans here https://planning.wakefield.gov.uk/onlin ... 986886.pdf

And lower ground weights gym here https://planning.wakefield.gov.uk/onlin ... 986885.pdf

Hope they start this work shortly so it’s ready in time for the season. I get why Ellis may want a training pitch but we have plans for a training facility in house already passed and with funding ready to go from developer etc.

That is not what Vastman was suggesting because he wanted it to be a gift.
