From the recent interview on BBC Radio Leeds, Matt Ellis discussed the west stand and having architects in. What is the preference? Seating or standing. Isn’t there a road behind the stand, making things a bit more tricky. |

Doesn't really matter. There's plenty of room to do a covered terrace. No need to have more seats imho. |

I unfortunately lack your insider knowledge because I am sure you will have been consulted by the previous incumbents on one of your daily conversations about what could be done to the West stand with a budget of £0. I note you appear very good at making suggestions on how the new owner could spend his money (paying someone to spray the seats before every game). I bet your mate is turning on his sun bed when he reads the words “pay substantial fee”. |

In a perfect world the western terrace would be for home fans and an away stand would be in place of hospitality block (south stand). The new west stand Id have a media suite double tiered with commentary gantry (where old west stand was) with terracing/ seating either side running full length. Plenty of options nowadays interesting to see what happens. Up the Trin |

Yes there is more room down there than people realise and I am sure you could construct something quite good. However listening to Matt Ellis he said he would like something 'A little different ' down the West side, which is quite intriguing. I would also hazard a guess that any development would also have to incorporate a media/ camera facility |

I would also hazard a guess that any development would also have to incorporate a media/ camera facility It will surprise people but the footprint of the west is not much less than the seating area of the new east stand. If you raked the seating (if seated) you could make it the same height. But the people behind could claim a loss of natural light. However we do it, it will have to be clever, or we buy the residents off. Or we accept it’s a summer game, so cover is not a necessity. Truth is you need cover on average about four games a year, so you could risk it. Away fans don’t tend to complain about a lack of cover, it’s the viewing angles they hate. On a bad day there will always be space in the east stand. In other words is it worth it for the very few occasions it causes an issue. |
